Legendary Indian singer and composer King of Disco Bappi Lahiri dies at 69

New Delhi Legendary Indian music composer and singer Bappi Lahiri, who popularized disco music in bollywood in the 80s and 90s, has died at Mumbai’s CritiCare Hospital at 69.

He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea). In April last year, he had been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after testing positive for Covid and recovered after a few days.

Bappi Lahiri who was compared as the Libarace of India for his flamboyant adornment of jewelry. His ‘Disco Dancer‘ song propelled bollywood into the disco realm. His last Bollywood song titled Bhankas was for the 2020 film ‘Baaghi 3‘. His last appearance on the screen was with Salman Khan on reality show Bigg Boss 15, where he was promoting his grandson Swastik’s new song ‘Baccha Party‘.
