Legendary world renowned singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92 after being admitted to a city hospital in Mumbai in early January after she tested positive for Covid-19 and was also diagnosed with pneumonia.
Her extraordinary career spanned more than half a century and she recorded thousands of songs in over 36 languages around the world.
She passed away on the auspicious occasion Basant Panchami which is the fifth day of Basant and is also known as Saraswati Puja dedicated to the Maa Saraswati, the goddess who represents education, creativity, and music. She was the embodiment of Maa Saraswati and she will always be remembered on this day as the goddess of Music.
