Hasht-e- Subh For several days, a video circulated widely on the Internet, captivating the public and social networks and prompting everyone to discuss it from their own perspective. The video featured Walid Mehsas, a reciter of the Quran and Islamic teacher in eastern Algeria, who was reciting the Quran in a mosque full of worshipers during the Taraweeh prayer. Suddenly, a cat jumped into his arms. He remained composed and gently stroked the cat. Then the cat calmly climbed onto his shoulder, kissed his face, jumped down from the man‘s shoulder after a brief pause, and vanished. Within two or three days, the video had amassed two billion views, an unprecedented or at least rare feat.
Users from all intellectual and social backgrounds commented on the video, with some arguing that Islam is a religion of mercy, kindness, tolerance, and humanity. Others went further, claiming that broadcasting the video could lead to millions of people converting to Islam.
