Tragic Incident Unfolds in Badakhshan: 13-Year-Old Fatally Shot by Cousin

Hasht-E Subh In a distressing turn of events, Badakhshan province is grappling with the heartbreaking news of the death of a 13-year-old boy, allegedly at the hands of his cousin.

Ehsanullah Kamgar, spokesperson for the Taliban’s security command in Badakhshan, provided details surrounding the incident, which transpired around 10:00 AM on Monday, January 15th, in the “Jirandar” area of the “Siab” village within the Raghestan district.

The victim, identified as Muneb-ur-Rahman, reportedly succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds inflicted by his cousin Abedullah, a 16-year-old boy who stands accused in this tragedy.

Kamgar conveyed that the circumstances leading to the incident, as well as the motive, remain obscured at this juncture. Nonetheless, he assured that Abedullah, the alleged perpetrator, has been apprehended and is currently under close supervision.

The incident echoes a somber occurrence in the recent past, specifically in the Shakarab area of the Tagab-Alam district in Badghis province. In that case, a man fell victim to lethal violence at the hands of his cousin.
