Hasht-E Subh Local sources in Takhar province On Jun 15, 2023 report that approximately 300 Pakistani Taliban (Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan or TTP) fighters have been relocated by the Taliban in the province.
According to sources on Thursday, June 15, these armed fighters, equipped with light and heavy weapons, were initially stationed near the Kokcha Bridge in the Khaja-Ghar district, at a location known as Kandak since June 7. They were moved under the command of senior Taliban officials.
The sources state that these fighters were then transferred and relocated three days ago to the village of Panganai in the Dasht-e Qala district of Takhar province by the Taliban.
Furthermore, the sources indicate that this action took place following an agreement between the Taliban and Pakistan regarding the transfer of Pakistani Taliban to northern Afghanistan.
It has also been mentioned that the families of these 300 fighters are expected to be relocated to Takhar province.
Reports indicate that last week, Sirajuddin Haqqani, the acting Minister of Interior of the Taliban, traveled to Takhar and held secret meetings with Taliban commanders and influential Pashtun leaders.
Recently, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban, confirmed that based on an agreement between the Taliban and the Pakistani government, TTP members are being relocated to Afghanistan, particularly in the north and northeast regions.
This decision by the Taliban has raised concerns among citizens, as well as anti-Taliban military and political factions.
