Review: Where Olive Trees Weep

Where Olive Trees Weep is a new documentary that follows Palestinian journalist and therapist Ashira Darwish, grassroots activist Ahed Tamimi, and holocaust survivor Dr. Gabor Maté through their journey in understanding the Israeli and Palestinian conflict from different perspectives.

We see personal stories and accounts of events with vivid cinematography that helps us see the divide that has been created between the Jews in Israel and Palestinians.

Mate, who is a holocaust survivor understands the trauma of Palestinians are going through in comparison to the trauma of holocaust survivors. Both people have been torn aways from the homes and forced to live in horrifying conditions.

Darwish says that if people from both sides were not divided by walls and checkpoints and see each other, there can maybe understand what is really going on.
