India to Provide Technical Support to Afghanistan’s Banking System

Hasht-E Subh The government of India has agreed to provide assistance in solving the technical problems of the country’s banking system after the officials of the central bank under the Taliban administration requested help from India.

Economic Times quoted IT on Sunday (October 30th), saying that Abdul Qadir Idris, the head of the Taliban’s Central Bank, recently met Bharat Kumar, the head of the Indian technical team in Kabul.

The two sides have discussed economic cooperation and solving problems in Afghanistan’s banking sector.

The central bank under the Taliban administration has not officially said anything about this meeting.

After the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, the country’s banking system faced a liquidity crisis, and then experts warned of the collapse of the Afghan banking system.
