Nuremberg, hits the big screen just before the November 11 which marks the end of World War II. This film is a dramatization Nuremberg trails which was the first international tribunal of its kind to punish those accused of the Nazi holocaust starring Rami Malek and Russel Crowe.
Written and directed by James Vanderbilt, it primarily revolves around the interaction between Russell Crowe’s Hermann Göring and Rami Malek’s Douglas Kelley in post-war Germany.
The first part of the film deals with background of how the trails were set up in detail. The trail part is shown in second half of the film. Draped in the politics of the day, the film looks some of the drama behind the trials.
The acting is compelling with seasoned actors like Crowe and Malek. The film craft tells the story of what might have happened and how.
As we witness global events including genocides. Looking at historical events such at the Nuremburg trails reminds of the history of ethnic cleansing and genocide.
